ENRICO PIERANUNZI LATIN JAZZ QUINTET - LIVE AT BIRDLAND

After great success in his career many artists, most of them choose to follow the same line of work, and only few are able to venture into new and risky projects . The latter is the case of the Italian pianist Enrico Pieranunzi.
After the victory harvested with its "Pieranunzi Plays Scarlatti, one might think that this Italian musician continue along this path, but decided that would give a 180 th of his career, and so, in 2008, embarked in the formation of a Latin jazz quintet. All a risk that it alone deserves the applause of the good fans . Pieranunzi
surrounded himself with musicians struggling in very different styles of jazz, and so they joined the project artists as talented as the Argentine trumpeter Diego Urcola and Yosvany Terry, a young Cuban saxophonist great future. To the rhythm section had the presence of John Patitucci and Antonio Sanchez, two names to ensure safe execution. The debut of this group performed at the legendary Birdland in New York, and this CD includes the quintet's performance offered the November 1, 2008.

All items were interpreted in such action are signed by the Italian and shown them how good it makes Pieranunzi: solid music, melodic and very accessible . The best of the album are the slow songs like the lovely "Rosa del Mare" and where it weakens more rapidly on issues, which lacks the high point and debauchery which usually have usually discs featuring Latin jazz musicians .
