BEN SIDRAN EUROPEAN 5ET - DYLAN DIFFERENT - LIVE IN PARIS...
Ben Sidran last year released an album in tribute to Bob Dylan with some of the songs most representative of Minnesota, which was very well received by both the public and critics. So good was it that decided to repeat it almost entirely, only this time in a live recording.
This "Different Dylan - Live in Paris at the New Morning" includes the concert Sidran, leading a quintet made up of musicians in his rare European tours and in highlighting the presence of trumpeter Erik Truffaz, offered in The New Paris Morning on April 29, 2010. And the result was as good as it could be expected from all .
The home is spectacular with Sidran presented the concert and the musicians in recitative plan that captures the listener from the first minute while sounding the first notes of "Gotta Serve Somebody." And from this place in almost all his previous album. There are only three changes, since it leaves out on popular subjects like "Highway 61 Revisited," "Knockin 'On Heaven's Door" and "Ballad of a Thin Man" introduces "Love Minus Zero (No Limit)," On the Road Again " and "We Are Here for a Minute." And everything still sounds great.
The French press is delighted with this album and many to be the live album of 2010 by how well it reflects the sort of communion, in general of pure chance, between the artist is on stage and the public; do not go off track. Two examples of the goodness of the disc, one is the naked version to make Sidran and Burger's "Blowin 'in the Wind" and the other is the "Subterranean Homesick Blues." They are not lost.
