DOUG WEBB - MIDNIGHT
saxophonist Doug Webb leads a superb quartet in the "Midnight" that has all the aroma of the great and classic jazz records. This album conveys feelings of nightlife, jazz clubs of the half-light ...
saxophonist Doug Webb is a little known, but (almost) everyone has heard at some point because his sax is played when Lisa Simpson plays his instrument. Webb has more than thirty years on stage, and played with people like Bud Shank, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, in the world of jazz and pop-rock musicians such as Rod Stewart, and all without have their work on television.
The eight tracks on the album, all standars, containing a beautiful touch of nostalgia that feels great. From its beginning with "Try a Little Tenderness" to end with "Emily" by Johnny Mendell, the "Midnight" is presented as 's a very solid, full of classic and very good work . One of the highlights of the album is the version of "Fly me to the moon ", with bossa nova that point it has. One of the strengths of the album is that the quartet played with a remarkable relaxation and tranquility.
If Doug Webb knows this is a record that is worth visiting to work , and if you know it, too. In any case, one of those records published in 2010 that should not go unnoticed because it is a great jazz album of all life.
